Rogers Re-Elected Farm Bureau President
The leader of the state's largest farm organization was recently re-elected to a new two-year term in office. Arizona Farm Bureau Federation President Kevin Rogers was re-elected in a unanimous vote of farm and ranch delegates to the organization's 90th Annual Meeting, which was held last week at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
Rogers, who along with his family farms 7,000 acres in the Phoenix-metro area, begins his fifth two-year term as Farm Bureau president. He was first elected in 2003.
“It’s an honor and privilege to serve the farmers and ranchers -- our entire membership -- as president of the Arizona Farm Bureau,” said Kevin Rogers. “Looking ahead to the next two years, the stakes for Arizona agriculture continue to be high on the state and national level. We’re facing high production costs despite high market prices for some of our agriculture commodities in addition to the Environmental Protection Agency wanting to impose burdensome regulation on us. Meanwhile as farmers and ranchers, we’re committed to producing the finest, most nutritious food and fiber in the world.”
Also re-elected during the Arizona Farm Bureau Annual Meeting was Tim Dunn as First Vice President serving his fifth two-year term. Dunn is a Yuma wheat and specialty crop farmer.
Also re-elected to her second two-year term as second vice president is Stefanie Smallhouse, partner with her husband in a diversified ranching operation in Reddington. Smallhouse is the first female officer of the Arizona Farm Bureau since the late 1990s.
Adds Rogers, “I’m pleased to get to work with Tim and Stefanie again. Arizona Farm Bureau is truly a grassroots organization driven and led by volunteer farmer and rancher leaders. We have a great team of officers; diverse and engaged.”
