America?s Heartland Program Wins Arizona Farm Bureau Media Award
Arizona, November 17, 2009 – America’s Heartland recently received the Arizona Farm Bureau TV Media Award during the 88th Annual AZFB conference in Carefree, Arizona during an awards ceremony celebrating farmers and ranchers throughout the state.
The Arizona Farm Bureau Media Awards are given to individuals or organizations that adhere to fair and balanced reporting when it comes to issues affecting agriculture. Arizona Farm Bureau values a good feature on agriculture that reminds the public where food comes from and the issues that face farmers and ranchers in the production of that food, fiber and fuel. County Farm Bureaus nominate recipients of these awards for selection by the organization’s state board of directors.
America’s Heartland episodes, a weekly public television half-hour series produced by KVIE in California has featured several Arizona farmers and ranchers over the course of its five-season run. In the 84 half-hour episodes produced throughout its first four seasons, America's Heartland reporters and crews have brought in stories from all across America. Season 4 completed America’s Heartland’s first "tour" of all 50 states. All across the U.S, the program has discovered unforgettable people and places in the world of agriculture.
Arizonans can watch America’s Heartland, sponsored by Arizona Farm Bureau on KAET Eight, Arizona PBS, Sundays at 4 p.m. beginning again December 13th .
“We’re proud of all our award winners and all that they’ve achieved on behalf of agriculture,” says Arizona Farm Bureau President Kevin Rogers. “Our awards banquet is an opportunity to extend our appreciation to those who make a difference in our industry.”
