The Art Work Has Gone to the Cows!

Glendale, AZ – Bring your artistic eye to the 27th Annual Arizona Agriculture Day where you will experience “MOOtiful” art displayed on actual cow canvases. Come watch as teams of local celebrities compete in the first ever Cow Painting competition.

The Cow Painting teams will be using LA-CO All-weather Paintstik markers provided for the Az AG Day event courtesy of Century West Marketing. These markers are actually used in most Dairy operations in protocols to ensure the safety of the food chain. They are non-toxic and safe, and wear off over time, so no animals used in this contest will be harmed.

“Arizona Agriculture” will be the theme of the Cow Painting Contest. Each team will try their best to depict Arizona Agriculture in their painting. Teams are encouraged to be as creative as possible, and their art will be judged based on creativity, and agricultural accuracy.

Be sure to come out and vote for your favorite painted cow on March 3, 2007 at Sahuaro Ranch Park in Glendale. This historic park, located at 9802 N. 59th Avenue, will serve as a backdrop to a day dedicated to celebrating Arizona agriculture.

Arizona Agriculture Day is committed to increasing the public awareness about Arizona Agriculture. Some of the attractions throughout the park will be agriculture displays and demonstrations, animals, produce display, farmers market, hay rides and tractor pulls.

Attendees can also enjoy the famous $1 Lunch which will be served from 11am – 1:30 pm, while supplies last, and includes a BBQ beef or pork sandwich, coleslaw, beans, hard boiled egg, vegetables, honey stick, fruit, cookies and milk.

Gates open at 9am and the fun lasts until 3pm. Admission is $2 per adult or 2 cans of food for St. Mary’s/Westside Food Bank Alliance. Children 12 and under are free. Bring your family and friends and spend the day learning about Arizona’s extensive agriculture industry, and enjoy the first ever Cow Painting Contest.
