SEATTLE, January 11, 2010—Arizona Farm Bureau, along with five other states, was recognized for excellence in membership achievement and for implementing outstanding programs serving Arizona Farm Bureau members in 2009. American Farm Bureau President Bob Stallman presented the awards during AFBF’s 91st annual meeting last night in Seattle.
Stallman announced winners of the Pinnacle Award, for overall outstanding program achievement combined with membership growth. The Arizona, Idaho, Kansas, Massachusetts, Ohio and Tennessee Farm Bureaus were honored with Pinnacle Awards.
The Awards for Excellence and the President’s Awards were presented in five program areas:
· Agriculture Education and Promotion
· Leadership Development
· Member Services
· Policy Implementation
· Public Relations and Information
Arizona Farm Bureau won in all five areas including the President’s Award. These are the “best of the best” awards presented for excellence in each of the five program areas to states by membership category size. A total of 29 President’s Awards were presented.
In Seattle for delegate business and to receive the Pinnacle Award, Arizona Farm Bureau President Kevin Rogers said, “Our members have had a very active year; this award goes to the Arizona Farm Bureau membership. The Pinnacle Award is a direct response to the all the hard work our volunteer agriculture members have done. I also tip my hat off to our excellent staff that helps keeps us on track and for accurately recording the work of our members. It’s great to be recognized as the best among our peers throughout the country. Congratulations to our great members!” |
