MISSION

The Arizona Farm Bureau Agriculture in the Classroom Program develops and implements curriculum and programs, aligned to state learning standards to help students and teachers be successful, while increasing agricultural awareness in K-6 classrooms and beyond.

AITC goes on Summer Break May 25-July 16th
AITC will be on Summer Break begining May 25th and will return July 16th. We will not be scheduling presentations or loaning curriculum kits during this time. If you would like to request a presentation or curriculum kit for the 2012-2013 School Year, we will be accepting reservations beginning July 16th. Send an email to Katie Aikins katieaikins@azfb.org with your school name and what you would like to reserve or call 480-635-3608. Remember, reservations will not be accepted until after July 16th! Have a great summer!

AITC Celebrates SPRING with Ag Literacy

The Arizona Farm Bureau Agriculture in the Classroom Program is offereing How Did That Get In My Lunchbox, a 30-minute presentation for grades K-2. The event will be taking place the weeks of April 23 - May 13th. The first 125 teachers to sign-up will get to keep the book for thier classroom library.

Celebrate the Centennial with the Arizona Ag Mag
The Arizona Farm Bureau Agriculture in the Classroom Program has created an Arizona Ag Mag (Agricultural Magazine) for kids! The four-page full color publication teaches students about the importance of the Arizona Five C's not only today but at Arizona's Statehood in 1912. A classroom set (30) is available at no charge to teachers across the state. To order your classroom set contact Katie Aikins at 480.635.3608 or katieaikins@azfb.org.


Tour Farms while in your classroom!

Perceptions Have Changed
Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) and the University of Arizona teamed up for a research project to see what local high school students know about agriculture. The presentation was given by AITC and students that participated were asked to take a pre, post and delayed-post questionnaire. Take a look at what we found! The complete results.
