Arizona Five C's (grades 4-6)
Presentation length: 1 hour
Students learn about the importance of Arizona's Five Cs at Statehood and today. An interactive presentation including the Arizona Ag Mag and a hands-on-activity pertaining to cotton or cattle.
How Did That Get in My Lunchbox: The Story of Food (grades K-2)
Presentation length: 30 minutes
Students learn through literacy how the many items in their lunchbox got there. Does our food come from a store? No! This presentation helps students understand that all food starts on a farm or ranch.
Apple Trees (grades K-2)
Presentation length: 45 minutes
Students learn through literacy the seasons of an apple tree. Students complete an apple tree craft.
Build Your Own Burger (grades 3-6)
Presentation length: 45 minutes
Students learn from a giant hamburger where the items on their burger come from and how they are made. Depending on grade level, students will also use create a key using a US MAp of the top producing states of each hamburger topping.
Grow Your Own Pizza (grades 3-6)
Presentation length: 45 minutes
Students learn from a giant pizza where the items on their pizza come from and how they are made. Students also learn about greenhouses, parts of a plant, and arizona ag facts.
The Many Hats Farmer Jeremy Wears (grades K-2)
Presentation length: 30 minutes
Students learn about the many different jobs that a farmer does throughout each day through a skit performed by the students.
If I Were A Bee What Would I Be? (grades K-2)
Presentation length: 45 minutes
Students learn about the workings of a beehive through a interactive skit. Students play out the parts of the different bees to produce a working hive. A reading activity is also included.
All About Bees (grades 1-3)
Presentation length: 30 minutes
Students learn all about bees and the roles they play in the hive. Students will also learn the differences between Queen, Drones and Worker bees and the life cyle of the bee.
Life Cycle of a Pumpkin (grades K-2)
Presentation length: 1 hour
Students read a book about the life cycle of a pumpkin and then create their very own pumpkin chain.
All About Pumpkins (grades K-2)
Presentation length: 45 minutes
Students read a book about pumpkins and then make pumpkin pie in a ziploc-bag.
Tools of a Cowboy (grades 2-6)
Presentation length: 45 minutes to 1 hour
Students learn about some of the equipment that cowboys/ranchers need on a daily basis on their operation. A powerpoint presentation shows some of the equipment put to use on an Arizona Ranch. An Arizona Rancher may be in attendance for this presentation.
Misconceptions about Agriculture (grades 1-3)
Students learn the truth about some of the misconceptions about agriculture like where does chocolate milk come from and do all bulls have horns,
Misconceptions about Agriculture (grade 7-adult)
Presentation lenghth: 60 -75 minutes
Participants learn the truth about some of the misconceptions about agriculture like DDT caused the near extinction of bald eagles due to eggshell thinning, organic food production does not use pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, organic food production has less impact on the environment than traditional food production, to protect children from caner, use organic peanut butter to make their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, brown eggs are more nutritious than white and much more!
Agricultural Friends or Foes? (grades 1-4)
Presentation length: 30 minutes
Participants learn all about insects and which insects are good and bad for agriculture. Participants also learn about some of the techniques farmers use to protect their crops.
Oh Say Can You Seed (Grades K-2)
Presentation length: 30 minutes
Participants learn all about seeds through the book Oh Say Can You Seed from the Cat in the Hat Learning Library. Students then dissect a seed. Presentation is 45 minutes in length.
Cotton Now and Then (Grades 1-6)
Presentation length: 45 minutes
Students learn all about Arizona's Cotton Industry. Students learn the importance of technology in agriculture and more specifically in the development of the cotton industry. Each student receives their very own cotton boll to hand gin as part of the presentation. Presentation is 45 minutes in length.
