8th Graders learn about careers in agriculture.
Over 6,200 8th graders in Maricopa County visited the Ag in the Classroom Booth at the Experience Your Future Event held April 22nd at University of Phoenix Stadium. Students learned about the 7 career pathways in agriculture, food and natural science and discovered that you do not have to be a farmer or rancher to work in agriculture.

Students specifically learned about careers in the Plant Systems, Animal Systems, and Power, Structure and Technology Pathways.  Participants had the opportunity to look through microscopes, view cow eyes and giant grashoppers, baby chicks, hydropnic lettuce, vegetables, participate in an AI Demonstration, learn about animal nutrition and a lucky few were even able to drive a tractor using GPS!
