Protect Your State Compensation Fund (SCF Arizona)
What is the Farm Bureau Safety Bonus Dividend Group?
The Farm Bureau Safety Bonus Dividend Group is open to all Farm Bureau members who carry worker’s compensation insurance with SCF Arizona. Farm Bureau and SCF have been partnering for over 30 years to bring this benefit to members. The safety dividend group currently consists of over 1,300 participants representing many businesses in Arizona. The group is open to both regular and associate members. Members with a good safety record are encouraged to participate. The safety dividend group works because the premiums from the entire group are divided by the entire group’s claims. Keeping claims low for the entire group results in a bonus dividend paid to members in addition to their individual dividend paid by SCF.
Why is Farm Bureau offering to pay me money? This sounds too good to be true.
Farm Bureau does not guarantee a bonus dividend. However, historically Farm Bureau has distributed between 30 to 50% bonus dividend on individual dividends received by SCF insureds. Bonus dividends are paid in October, the same time SCF pays individual dividends.
When does this take effect and when will I see my first Farm Bureau bonus dividend?
Dividends are paid in October for the previous dividend year. Members enrolling in the current safety dividend year would possibly earn their bonus in October next year, provided they have a good safety record.
How does this affect my State Fund account? Will my State Fund premium change?
Nothing changes with SCF Arizona. Your premium or SCF relationship does not change by being involved in Farm Bureau’s group.
What does the safety committee do?
The Safety Committee works to improve the loss history of the group and increase the bonus dividend. Quarterly, the Farm Bureau Safety Committee reviews the loss history of the group for policyholders who are experiencing frequent or severe injury claims.
Who will have access to my safety records? Tell me about confidentiality.
The committee only reviews policies by the policy number and only the Farm Bureau Safety Dividend Assistant Coordinator and SCF know your specific policy information. Members addresses, phone numbers and claim information is kept strictly confidential.
Are there drawbacks to enrolling in the Farm Bureau Safety Dividend Group?
There may not be drawbacks but policyholders participating in the group will have their claims reviewed if there are two lost-time claims or a 40% loss ratio for the year and may be asked to contact the SCF for a safety consultation. In addition, participants must keep their Farm Bureau dues current.
Is it guaranteed that I will be accepted?
Enrollment is not guaranteed. Policies with high claims and high loss ratios may be delayed enrollment for a year or be denied.
Can I leave the group if I want to?
You may contact the SCF Arizona to leave the group if you are unhappy at anytime.
If I cancel my Farm Bureau insurance can I still participate in the group?
Yes. If you cancel your Farm Bureau property and casualty insurance for any reason, you can still participate in the safety bonus dividend group as long as you maintain a current membership in Farm Bureau and a good loss history.
