Contests for YF&R members The AFBF has contests that its YF&R members are able to participate in, inclding Discussion Meet, Excellence in Ag and the Achievement Award.

Arizona Collegiate Discussion Meet 2016 Winner and AFBF YF&R CDM Sweet 16 Finalists

Ashley Jeffers-Sample- University of Arizona

Ashley Jeffers-Sample is a senior at The University of Arizona where she is studying Agricultural Business Economics. She was born and raised in Holbrook, Arizona where agriculture has always played a large role. She has grown up involved on her family's beef cattle ranch, while also being an active member of 4-H and Arizona High School Rodeo. She has stayed involved during her time at the university she has been a member of the Livestock Judging team, Collegiate Livestock Growers, Young Farmers and Ranchers, and Sigma Alpha. She is honored for the opportunity to represent The University of Arizona.

Jace Householder- Graham County

Third generation cotton farmer, Jace Householder was born and raised in the Eastern Arizona town of Thatcher.  Upon graduation from University of Arizona, Jace and his wife Erin returned to Thatcher, where Jace continues to work on the farm with his Dad and Grandpa.  Jace’s dedication to agriculture also includes his employment as a Loan Officer with Farm Credit Services Southwest, serving on the Graham County Farm Bureau board for 6 years and as the county YR&R chair for two years.  In addition, he provides his leadership skills to the local Boy Scouts of America troop and teaches conversational Portuguese class at Eastern Arizona College.  He and Erin enjoy raising their three children on the family farm.

Arizona Excellence in Ag Winner and AFBF YF&R Top 10 finalist

Cassie Lyman- Gila County

Cassie is a mother of 4 boys and an independent contractor for her local Natural Resource Conservation District (Reading the Range Program). She is also part owner and ranch-hand at Bar L Bar cattle ranch in central Arizona. She is actively involved in her community. She loves to serve and is Farm Bureau Proud! Her dedication and involvement in her county and state Farm Bureau Federation is recognized by many. Cassie is passionate about agriculture education and is persistently looking for ways to increase Ag Literacy and Agriculture Awareness throughout her county and state.
