Lately, I’ve viewed on my Twitter feed lots of farms and ranches across America that have decorated some of their farm and ranch equipment with Christmas lights. Seeing the festive Christmas lights in these unique settings fills up my heart.

Years ago, 2010 to be exact, I spearheaded a series on Arizona Farm Bureau’s Fill Your Plate called Christmas Traditions on the Farm and Ranch. I ended up with seven different stories.

We’ve resurrected the series on Fill Your Plate in a compilation for easier access. It’s well worth the read. From one family “dressing chickens” beginning on Christmas Eve and going into Christmas Day (not as you’d imagine and not really a tradition) to the tradition of Oyster Stew on Christmas Eve, there are plenty of rich traditions for the holidays on the farm and ranch.

Merry Christmas!
