On March 1, 2022, NRCS Arizona announced the sign-up period for a program aimed at addressing resource concerns along high-traffic areas of Arizona's southern border.
As Arizona Farm Bureau members know all too well, the challenges of being a border-county rancher are unique and expensive. This program is aimed to offer some relief for producers dealing with the cost of replacing pasture fence, pipelines, and watering infrastructure that are damaged by border-related activities.
Eligible producers and landowners should apply by April 29, 2022. You can find your local NRCS Service Center by visiting www.farmers.gov/service-locator. Of note, the program will be limited to expenses incurred after the sign-up period, and only producers in the identified priority area are eligible.
