Arizona Farm Bureau extends its gratitude to Senator Kyrsten Sinema for her dedicated service to Arizona, and specifically the agriculture industry. From the beginning, Senator Sinema has been a staunch advocate for Arizonians. The Farm Bureau applauds her commitment to our state.
Senator Sinema worked across party lines to advocate for many industries, including agriculture. The recipient of the American Farm Bureau 2023 Golden Plow, Sinema was always willing to listen and took on tough issues while working hard for bipartisan support. Additionally, she received the “Friend of Farm Bureau” award for three consecutive years in recognition of her hard work and dedication to agriculture and Arizona.
“Senator Sinema has been a champion on our issues,” said Arizona Farm Bureau President Stefanie Smallhouse. “I consider Senator Sinema a friend of agriculture who worked tirelessly on many issues that impact agriculture. Her work and accomplishments have not gone unrecognized by Arizona Farm Bureau, and we thank her for all she has done to support an industry that provides the food, fuel, and fiber that the world relies on.”
Senator Sinema worked on a variety of issues including the launch of the Water Advisory Council to address drought conditions that agriculture has been plagued with, including securing $12 billion in western water funding to address drought. Additionally, she worked closely with the Arizona Farm Bureau on the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act.
She has championed many efforts in the U.S. Congress, when she completes her term at the end of the year Arizona and the state’s agriculture industry will lose a strong advocate who put party politics aside to do the will of the people. Her love for Arizona was always evident and manifested itself in her willingness to work across party lines. We thank her again for her service and wish her all the best in whatever the future holds for her.
