Fill Your Plate Unveils Enhanced Platform to Connect Arizonans with Local Agriculture
Arizona – May 20, 2025 – The Arizona Farm Bureau is thrilled to announce the release of an updated Fill Your Plate website, launching today. This revitalized platform strengthens its mission to bridge the gap between Arizona’s urban consumers and the state’s vibrant agricultural community, offering a richer, more immersive farm-to-plate experience.
Since its original launch in 2007, Fill Your Plate has been a cornerstone for Arizonans seeking to reconnect with the source of their food. As nearly three-quarters of the global population is projected to live in urban areas by 2050, many Arizonans are three to four generations removed from farm life. Fill Your Plate addresses this disconnect by providing a dynamic, consumer-facing hub that fosters connections with local farmers and ranchers while celebrating Arizona’s agricultural heritage.
The updated Fill Your Plate introduces enhanced features, including:
- More Robust Searchable Databases: Explore four comprehensive databases spotlighting farmers’ markets, direct-market farm products, farm-family recipes, and farms open for visits. These databases form the heart of the platform, making it easier than ever to discover Arizona’s agricultural bounty.
- Expanded Farm-to-Plate Content: Dive into detailed insights of Arizona farmers and ranchers through our podcast and blog, showcasing the stories behind Arizona’s produce, meats, and more. The farm-to-plate podcast features expert nutritionists from around the country and even a few that are international, always with a focus that takes you back to Arizona agriculture!
- Culinary and Community Engagement: Access an enriched collection of recipes tailored to Arizona’s unique offerings that feature generational farm-family recipes, alongside a vibrant Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about agriculture and farm life that are often answered by our farmers and ranchers. These FAQs will be regularly updated as we connect with consumers and their questions.
- Educational Resources: Stay informed with insights on food price trends, nutritional facts, and the diversity of Arizona agriculture, from crisp apples to premium beef, especially through the regular Fill Your Plate blog and podcast. Another new feature, “Farm Facts that Feed You,” highlights interesting farm and ranch facts and connects you to other resources for further learning.
“Since its launch in 2007, the Fill Your Plate website of the Arizona Farm Bureau has been a "go to" resource for foodies and smart shoppers alike,” said Arizona Farm Bureau President John Boelts. “The recent updates to the website help expand the possibilities for savvy consumers. Many of the treats you’ll find are Arizona originals!”
“Arizona agriculture is proud to produce the safest and most abundant food supply in the world,” said Arizona Farm Bureau CEO Philip Bashaw. “Arizona Farm Bureau’s Fill Your Plate is our invitation to share our story and our products directly with the end consumer. I hope everyone enjoys the bold new look and rich content of this new and inviting online environment where everyone can find out the best way to fill their plate with the best of Arizona Agriculture!”
Continuously refreshed with new stories and insights, recipes, and podcasts, Fill Your Plate ensures every visit is a fresh opportunity to engage with Arizona’s rich agricultural tapestry. Whether you’re a chef sourcing local ingredients, a family supporting nearby farms with your farmers’ market purchases, or simply curious about where your food comes from, Fill Your Plate invites you to discover the pride and sustenance of Arizona agriculture.
“Fill Your Plate is more than a website, it’s a celebration of Arizona’s agricultural roots and a way to build community through food,” said Arizona Farm Bureau’s Communications Director Julie Murphree. “With these updates, we’re making it easier for Arizonans to connect with the farmers and ranchers who feed us, while inspiring them to explore the stories behind every bite.”
