Curriculum Kit
The Arizona Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom Program offers
Curriculum Kits to teachers FREE of charge. You can check out kits for 2 weeks and teach the included lessons when they work in your schedule. Curriculum Kits are all-inclusive and provide teachers with math, science, social studies and English Language Arts lessons. Also included are the materials needed to complete each lesson. All lessons are aligned to the Arizona College and Career Readiness Standards (ACCRS). Lessons included with the kits are a compilation of AZFB lessons and lessons used by AITC Programs across the Country.

Apples (grades K-3)
How do apples grow? Where do all those varieties of apples come from? Learn the answers to these questions and so much more! Take an inside look at apples and their history. The Apple Kit includes hands-on activities and games, things to make, things to eat, videos, posters and books.

Arizona Five Cs (grades 4-6)
Students will uncover the history of Arizona through cattle, cotton, citrus, copper and climate. Students will get up close and personal with some of Arizona's agricultural producers and learn the many products of these agricultural commodities.

Arizona Fruits and Veggies (grades K-3)
Students will discover the differences between a fruit and a vegetable and learn how many different fruits and vegetables are ggrid-xn right here in Arizona. Students will learn about our edible world, match seeds to their finished product and learn if fruits and veggies sink and why.

Cattle (grades K-6)
Students will learn the history of the cattle industry in Arizona and the U.S. Students will be introduced to Arizona brands, cattle breeds, and the many bi-products of cattle. The Beautiful Bovine will help students recognize the differences between humans and cattle and them understand the digestive system of cattle. Students will learn about cattle through video, books and other interactive lessons.

Cotton (grades K-6)
Students will uncover interesting facts about U.S cotton production through excercises and hands-on experiments. They will learn the history of cotton in Arizona and experience the story of Eli Whitney and the cotton gin. Students will have the opportunity to hand gin cotton, ggrid-x thier own cotton, experiment with the flammability of different fabrics, and learn the life cycle of cotton while creating the life cycle of cotton chain. Students will also learn about the different products they use that contain cotton.

Dairy (grades K-6)
Students will learn that the Arizona Dairy Industry ranks 2nd in Dairy Herd size in the United States. Lessons will show students some of the technology that allows Arizona Dairymen to care for, house and milk so many cows. Students will use science skills to make ice cream and cottage cheese.

Energy and Agriculture (Grades 7-12)
This hands-on kit allows students to explore the connection between energy and agriculture. Lessons will walk students through the basics of energy generation and distribution, highlight the variety of energy sources, and talk about energy's importance in the agriculture industry. Student can even make a solar oven and bake smores with the included materials.

Equine Kit (grades K-6)
Students will learn the history of the equine industry in Arizona. They will discover the origin of the word
horsepower and role of the horse in agriculture. Horse shoes, grooming supplies, videos and books will accompany lessons that give a fun twist to math, science, social studies and English Language Arts.

Plant Kit (grades 2-6)
Students will explore the world of plants and soil through a variety of hands-on lessons and activities. Pollination, DNA, and careers are all addressed in this one-of-a-kind kit.

Poultry Kit (grades K-6)
Students will uncover interesting facts about U.S poultry production through exercises and hands-on experiments. They will also learn about Hickman's Family Farms. Students will experience embryology first hand by hatching chicks with the incubator included with this kit. Fertilized eggs NOT included.

Pumpkins (grades K-3)
Discover the wonders of pumpkins. The Pumpkin Kit contains posters, books, hands-on activities, recipes and fascinating pumpkin facts. Teach your students the life cycle of a pumpkin through the pumpkin chain craft or experience the taste of pumpkin pie in a ziploc bag!

Sheep (grades K-6)
Students will uncover the history of the sheep industry in Arizona and follow the historic sheep trail. Wool samples will provide unique hands-on lessons. Students will participate in hands-on activities that will help them distinguish between cotton and wool.
