We’re pleased to announce that Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs will attend Arizona Farm Bureau’s Annual Meeting and speak to the audience during Tuesday evening’s Awards Banquet, November 4th at the Sheraton Mesa Hotel at Wrigleyville West in Mesa. The event promises to highlight the state's agricultural community, with Hobbs' participation underscoring her commitment to agriculture that is vital to Arizona's economy, contributing nearly $31 billion.

A native Arizonan, Hobbs earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Northern Arizona University and her Master’s Degree in social work from Arizona State University. Notably, she holds the distinction of being Arizona's first governor with a background in social work, bringing a unique perspective focused on community welfare and resilience.

Hobbs' political journey began in 2010 when she was elected to the Arizona House of Representatives, followed by service in the State Senate for four terms, including two as Senate Minority Leader. In 2018, she became Arizona's 21st Secretary of State.

In November 2022, she was elected as Arizona's 24th governor, the fifth woman and fifth Arizona-born individual to hold the office, taking the oath on January 2, 2023.

Since assuming the governorship, Hobbs has championed bipartisan solutions to pressing challenges, advancing initiatives in housing affordability, water security, and economic development to foster opportunities for all Arizonans.

Her attendance at Farm Bureau's annual awards dinner offers members the opportunity to hear directly from Governor Hobbs about the importance of sustaining Arizona's vital ag sector amid evolving environmental and economic pressures while also celebrating our award recipients and the impact they have had on the industry.
